Hatch is seeking a Water Resources Construction Manager to join its team in Homestead, Florida to assist with a current project. Our Construction Management Practice is centered first and above everything on our safety practices. We prioritize the well-being of our workers and the community while maintaining operational efficiency.

Position Summary:

The Water Infrastructure Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of culvert projects within water management initiatives. This role involves coordinating with engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive construction management plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource management for the construction oversight. Provide as-needed construction cost estimates. Provide constructability reviews.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise construction teams, providing direction and support to ensure high levels of productivity and safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main liaison between stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and project partners, to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Quality Control: Monitor all phases of construction to maintain quality standards and adherence to project specifications.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with construction activities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular updates and progress reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders. Use of web-based systems such as eBuilder, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience in large water infrastructure construction management work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field or significant experience in the associated field.
  • Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects, particularly in large pump stations or water resource construction.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, safety protocols, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Preferred: Previous experience with Florida Water Management District construction projects.

  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial oversight.
