Preconstruction Estimator

Nova Construction Management is a boutique, high‑performance construction management and general contracting firm based in Coral Gables. We specialize in delivering sophisticated commercial and residential projects with precision, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to quality. As our portfolio continues to grow, we are expanding our preconstruction team and seeking a motivated Preconstruction Estimator who is eager to develop deep expertise in one of the most challenging and rewarding areas of the industry: renovation estimating.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values craftsmanship and accuracy, and wants to grow into a senior estimator or project management role within a firm known for excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare detailed, accurate quantity takeoffs for projects approved for bidding.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to fully understand scope and requirements.
• Conduct site visits to document existing conditions, gather field measurements, and collect MEP information.
• Build material lists and obtain pricing for in‑house procurement.
• Solicit, evaluate, and organize subcontractor proposals while developing your own network of trusted trade partners.
• Manage and track RFIs, compile subcontractor questions, and coordinate with architects and designers.
• Work closely with senior estimators and project managers to assemble comprehensive bid packages.
• Support project teams during buyout and early project phases.
• Learn and participate in the submittal process.

What You Bring:

• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry terminology.
• Experience with digital takeoff software (PlanSwift or similar).
• High attention to detail and excellent documentation habits.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills - comfortable speaking with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and designers.
• Solid math skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to meet firm deadlines, including occasional long days or weekends when required.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently with direction.
