Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, products, and services that align with our company's operational needs. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management and the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to ensure the best value for our organization.
Position Purpose
The Buyer is responsible for achieving Company Inventory Management goals for assigned Store Branches which includes, but is not limited to, Assortments, Purchase Order accuracy (cost, quantity, ship dates), minimal spoilage and shortages, freight negotiation and managing optimum inventory levels. They will execute a replenishment strategy that supports supply chain efficiencies, as well as Resource Suppliers & product for assorted Branch Identities.

Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor assigned SKU’s for inventory replenishment
- Enters and maintains accurate purchasing parameters (replenishment lead times).
- Issue purchase orders with proper requirements and delivery.
- Manage forecasting and demand planning for business shifts, and seasonality changes.
- Develop a working relationship with suppliers.
- Actively pursues appropriate charge back of unacceptable costs. Work to improve vendor quality.
- Review late open orders and expedite as needed.
- Source for alternative products to resolve inventory shortages.
- Work with Buying Team to communicate supply chain efficiencies.
- Collaborate with Buying Team to review and resolve inventory issues.
- Manage returns to suppliers and supplier inventory allowances.
- Pursues continuous improvement in purchasing procedures, efficiency, and team functioning.
- Keeps purchasing Management informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management.
- Develop and maintain a general understanding of industry trends, products and purchasing techniques.
- Travel to Store Branches, Trade Shows and Corporate Meetings.
- Work directly with Store Managers, Senior Buyer and General Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- 3+ Procurement experience
- Advanced Excel, Data Entry and Microsoft Office skills
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or commensurate combination of education and experience
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Strong attention to details and follow up.
- Proactive attitude to highlight and address issues as they arise.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to understand/execute standard replenishment processes and best practices.
- Strong tactical replenishment execution skills & understanding of product forecasting.
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers to execute their inventory closeouts & promotional buys

Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Microsoft Excel: 5 years (Required)
- Supply chain management: 3 years (Required)
- Retail Store Purchasing: 5 years (Required)
