POSITION TITLE: FLOOR MANAGER
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
The Floor Manager is responsible for assisting the Assistant General Manager to ensure day to day restaurant operations run smoothly. They will provide 100% support and commitment to the Restaurant in assisting with opening and closing shifts, handle basic restaurant administrative tasks, and assist with supervising floor and team members during hours of operations.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Supervise daily shift operations, open and close restaurant shifts and ensures completion of assigned shift checklist and other duties
- Knowledge of all functions and duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary
- Open and close restaurant shifts and ensure completion of assigned shifts checklist, including closing reports and procedures
- Create floor plans for shifts and ensure restaurant is staffed according to business needs.
- Interact with guests and set a strong example of guest service
- Assist team members on the floor with guest during meal periods and high demand times
- Handle guest complaints and ensure the guest is content with the overall experience by touching tables and initiating service recovery when necessary.
- Support servers and hosts on the floor during meal periods and high demand times
- Responsible for monitoring timecards on a daily basis, including clock-in and clock-out reports during closing
- Run and interpret department reports as necessary
- Assist with promotions and new initiatives, not limited to beverage, marketing, food, sales incentives, cultural activities, etc.
- Assist with the handling and service of all bookings of restaurant parties, events, catering, functions, etc.
- Assist and follow through for all guest conflicts and resolutions
- Participate in department meetings ad communicate a clear ad consistent message regarding the company goals to employees
- Oversee and delegate appropriately workload of team members
- Conduct pre-meal briefings with management to educate restaurant staff on menu items
- Program daily menu specials and changes to menu in the system
- Monitor alcohol and beverage service in compliance with local laws.
- Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met on a daily basis.
- Understand how to operate basic restaurant equipment (machines, sound systems, tablets, etc)
- Ensure employees follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules
- Assist with maintaining food handling and sanitation standards
- Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms
- Assist in conducting investigations of employee and or guest incidents/accidents
- Understand and comply with loss prevention policies and procedures
- Handle and report employee questions and concerns to management
- Promote culture within management team and employees
- Foster a climate of cooperations and respect between team members
- Constantly increase knowledge of food, beverages, and other products and services of all staff
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Torno Subito in order to operate the restaurant effectively
ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS
- Assist in developing reports as instructed.
- Knowledge of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, payroll software, POS)
- Effective communication not limited to daily log notes composition, emails, verbal and written forms, etc.
- Assist in mapping of inventory management through specified software.
- Control and maintain food and beverage cost as per company COGS goals
- Present new ideas and suggestions using analyzed historical data
- Ensure company documents and sensitive information is confidential and secure
- Ensure all paperwork is accurately submitted
- Attend required meetings
- Active response and oversight of company's emails and all communications
- Maintain a Food Manager Certification
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Posses entry level management experience, preferably in high volume hotels or restaurants; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Exceptional guest service and employee relation skills
- Bilingual preferred. English fluency required
- Understanding of Food & Beverage, Restaurant, Bar/Lounge department procedures
- Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food handling safety standards
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Great communication and leadership skills
- Must be able to work without close supervision
- Competency of useful computer programs (MS Office, Monday.com, restaurant management software, payroll software, POS)
- Flexible and long hours required; required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant
- Availability to work holidays, nights, and weekends
