Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Tampa, Florida. This role focuses on business-to-business collections, requiring strong analytical and organizational skills to manage a high volume of accounts effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience with advanced Excel functions and a proven track record in commercial and consumer collections. Responsibilities: - Manage a portfolio of approximately 286 business accounts, ensuring timely payments and addressing overdue balances. - Conduct business-to-business collection activities, maintaining clear and detail-oriented communication with clients to resolve payment issues. - Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, to analyze account data and track collection performance. - Collaborate with internal teams to address billing discrepancies and provide solutions for payment delays. - Participate in virtual training sessions to stay updated on company policies and procedures. - Monitor collection activity and prepare regular reports for management on account statuses. - Follow established credit and collection processes to ensure compliance with company standards. - Identify opportunities for process improvements in the collections workflow. Requirements - 3-5 years of experience in commercial and consumer collections. - Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. - Solid understanding of credit and collection processes, with a focus on business-to-business transactions. - Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with clients. - Ability to manage a high volume of accounts while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. - Experience with virtual training platforms and remote work tools. - Proven ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights. - Familiarity with billing and collection systems.
