SUMMARY:

Directly responsible for all Accounting and Finance functions for the entire corporation including all national and international subsidiaries. Oversees and directs day to day Accounting processes , tax preparation and filing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures that monthly, quarterly and annual closing process & group reporting is completed timely according to the published corporate controlling schedule
• Reviews booking of one-off transactions (e.g. purchase accounting, restructuring, etc.). Researches related GAAP and FASB principles and works with auditors/Tax Accountants in determining best treatment
• Participates in budget preparation for all departments and companies and institutes appropriate controls
• Prepares financial statements and other information for internal and external parties
• Manages external audit process and serves as main point of contact
• Manages the process of preparing and filing all taxes (income, sales, property, etc)
• Manages accounting integration in projects such as M&A, ESOP, and other growth initiatives
• Owns/directs physical inventory process and responsible for ensuring that inventory balance is accurately reflected in the ledger
• Supervises all accounting department functions directly and indirectly including: Accruals, depreciation and amortization calculations and all other general ledger processes.
• Overall owner of all accounting department standard work. Responsible for ensuring all standard work is kept up to date. Responsible for recommending improvements and implementing new processes.
• Supervises reconciliation of general ledger accounts and preparation of standard and non-standard journal entries and financial reporting.
• Provides leadership to the team and performs all normal supervisory functions, to include hiring, training, appraisal, counseling, and discipline.
• Other projects/analysis or tasks as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting Team will report to the Controller.

Controller reports directly to CFO

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CPA highly preferred
• Minimum ten (10) years of related experience with at least five (5) years of recent experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• At least five (5) years of recent supervisory experience required

• Ability to independently analyze detailed information and compile standard and non-standard reports
• Understanding of strong internal control systems, able to make recommendations for improvements, carryout changes and monitor the internal control systems
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, interdepartmentally and externally with vendors, customers, financial institutions, auditors, and others
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Proficient with ERP Systems (Epicor and/or SYSPRO preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The normal work environment is typical of a business office.
• The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, touch, see, and hear.
