Senior Student Accounts Specialist
:
Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in accounting, business, or a closely related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a closely related field
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers billing for third party contracts for Student Accounts Office by overseeing new and existing sponsored program agreements to determine billing requirements for entry into Peoplesoft student accounts module.
- Ensures sponsorships received are properly applied and reconciled.
- Creates and mails invoices to sponsors and completes follow-up on past due accounts.
- Analyzes and evaluates student accounts; advises students - including resident students, and other community members, on tuition and fees, receivables and loans, scholarships and waivers, payments and refunds, and their applicable college, state, and federal regulations, statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Assists Student Account Specialists with answering phones during peak registration and while the call volume is high.
- Counsels students regarding the Daytona State Bank Mobile Vibe Card process, and the E-Cashier payment plan, and assists students with vendor requirements and processing.
- Receives, verifies, records, posts, and provides receipts for funds paid by students and other customers, providing quality customer service and ensuring that funds are classified and posted to the appropriate subfunds and general ledger codes.
- Reconciles cash on hand in change fund with accounting journal daily and prepares bank deposit and other supporting documentation for Accounting.
- Distributes accounts payable checks to employees and vendors, applies and removes student account holds, performs due diligence procedures on accounts, maintains incoming check log, research, and requests special checks.
- Performs routine office tasks such as typing correspondence, filing, copying, faxing, emailing, opening mail, maintains student files on various receivables, loans, scholarships, waivers, and billings.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Must possess strong computer skills and have knowledge of software programs including Word, and Excel.
Must communicate well both verbally and in writing and be skilled in customer service, recording keeping, and communication.
Must be creative and be able to work independently on special projects.
Must possess the ability to multi-task, utilize time management, and be well organized.
Must be able to work various shifts, including rotating late-nights, and additional hours, weekends, evenings and/or holidays as needed and/or required.
