POSITION OVERVIEW
The Patient Recruitment Associate is responsible for the recruitment of study participants into clinical research protocols. This position requires knowledge of current clinical research studies, phone screening and scheduling, and other recruitment activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Understand clinical trial protocols and the diagnoses and medical terminology involved in each study.
  2. Speak with potential research participants by phone and in person to explain trial opportunities and schedule patients for in-person appointments at the clinic (for a pre-screen or screen visit).
  3. Establish rapport and ensure courteous and efficient service is provided to all callers.
  4. Conduct outgoing recruitment calls and answer inbound calls.
  5. Perform phone screens to identify the patient’s diagnosis and exclusion factors to ensure correct placement in a study.
  6. Match potential patients’ needs to current or upcoming studies. Log patient information in database for future studies.
  7. Organize and coordinate community outreach programs as needed.
  8. Provide input into marketing and advertisement processes.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. Able to think broadly and maintain a working knowledge of all actively enrolling and upcoming trials.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
  3. Friendly, professional demeanor and effective communication skills required.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Must possess a high degree of urgency and self-motivation and have a strong work ethic.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Associate degree or Bachelor degree strongly preferred.

Experience

  1. Previous clinical research or patient recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Language

  1. Fluent in English and Spanish. (required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  2. Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
