Staff Accountant
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant manages the day-to-day operations of the financial organization and is responsible for maintaining accuracy of financial records and their compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Underlying these responsibilities is meeting processing and reporting deadlines and performing various accounting tasks such as:
· Maintaining the General Ledger
· Good Understanding of Accrual Accounting
· Conducting financial analysis to identify trends
· Account Reconciliations
· Inventory accounting, including production costing and WIP inventory determination
· Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
· Bank Account Reconciliations
· eCommerce account reconciliations, a plus
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities may include:
· Maintain precise daily Accounts Payable, Wire and ACH payments, posting in QuickBooks and in separate business systems.
· Vendor Invoice and PO reconciliation
· Posting and tracking all credit card spending with precise expense recording in QuickBooks
· Analyze and reconcile accounts on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and prepare reports on discrepancies
· Vendor Account setup and Profile Maintenance, W-9 Collections
· 1099 Forms
· Sales Tax Exemption Certificate Maintenance
· Sales Tax maintenance and reconciliation using Avalara
· Evaluate and reconcile Vendor Deposits with reporting discrepancies weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually for month close
· General Journal accrual and adjusting entries
· Prepaid Software and Expense accounts
· Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
· Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
· Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
· Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
· Preparing documentation for external auditors
· Collaborating with other Finance Team members
· Participates in special projects as required.
· Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
2. 3 + years of experience in accounting role; experience with China/International vendors and electronic payments, distribution/assembly businesses experience a plus

5. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
6. Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks Desktop
7. Strong understanding of US tax regulations
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and advanced Excel Skills
9. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
10. Ability to read and analyze financial reports.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
12. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
13. High attention to detail
14. Ability to work independently.
15. Confidentiality and integrity
16. Elevated level of professional ethics
General Physical Demands:
Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for prolonged periods (6-8 hours per day). Occasionally required to stand, walk, or move around the office and production areas. Ability to lift and carry office supplies, files, or reports, typically up to 15-25 pounds. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, or stoop to access files or office equipment. Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, and handling documents. May need to walk through or inspect areas of the manufacturing floor, requiring proper safety precautions.
