About the Role

Birch Island Vet is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our medical team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in delivering high-quality, hands-on care to our patients while supporting veterinarians and ensuring efficient clinical operations. Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures

• Administer medications, vaccines, and other prescribed treatments

• Collect and process lab samples with precision and care

• Provide clear, compassionate client education on treatment plans and home care

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

• Perform dental cleanings and assist with routine and advanced procedures

• Monitor post-surgical patients and deliver post-operative care

• Handle and restrain animals safely and respectfully during procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Veterinary Technician

• Strong knowledge of animal care, behavior, and clinical procedures

• Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude

• Proficient with practice management software and digital medical records

• Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technicians strongly preferred
