Restaurant Bank Accountant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Restaurant Bank Accountant. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, identifying errors, detecting potential fraudulent activities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing bank transactions, reconciling accounts, monitoring cash flow, and compiling reports for the restaurant investment group.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for restaurant bank accounts.
- Ensure proper classification and recording of all financial transactions.
- Organize and maintain financial documents, such as receipts, invoices, and bank statements.
2. Error Identification and Resolution:
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in financial records promptly.
- Investigate and rectify any financial discrepancies or issues.
- Implement measures to prevent future errors and improve financial accuracy.
3. Fraud Detection and Compliance:
- Monitor bank account activities for signs of money laundering, fraudulent transactions, or other illegal activities.
- Identify and report suspicious transactions or unusual account activities promptly.
- Follow prescribed procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
4. Bank Account Reconciliation:
- Oversee daily bank transactions and reconcile them with the restaurant's accounting system.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions and reconcile with bank statements.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances in a timely manner.
5. Report Compilation:
- Prepare financial reports for the restaurant investment group and stakeholders.
- Generate reports as per customer requests, management requirements, or regulatory compliance.
- Provide financial information and analysis to support decision-making processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in financial recordkeeping, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of banking procedures, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with restaurant or hospitality industry operations is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify errors and discrepancies.
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, Quick Books and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
