Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to join our independent compounding pharmacy. This role involves preparing patient-specific sterile medications in compliance with USP <797> , USP <800> , and Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations. You’ll be responsible for overseeing sterile compounding operations, ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound sterile medications (e.g., IV solutions, ophthalmic drops, injections) based on individual prescriptions using aseptic technique.
• Ensure full compliance with USP <797> and <800> standards , and Florida Board of Pharmacy rules.
• Review, verify, and document prescriptions and batch records accurately.
• Maintain proper gowning and cleanroom procedures within ISO-classified environments.
• Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and support staff in sterile compounding protocols.
• Conduct and document gloved fingertip tests , media fills , and environmental monitoring reviews.
• Monitor beyond-use dating (BUD), labeling, and final inspection of all sterile preparations.
• Maintain thorough and compliant compounding logs, formulations, and inventory records.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) as needed for any deviations.
• Support audits and inspections by the Florida Board of Pharmacy or other regulatory agencies.
• Stay informed of changes in compounding standards and participate in continuing education.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or B.S. in Pharmacy.
• Active Florida Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sterile compounding in a 503A or hospital setting.
• Solid knowledge of USP <797>/<800> and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with compounding equipment, laminar flow hoods, and cleanroom standards.

Preferred:

• Certification in sterile compounding (e.g., BCSCP ).
• Experience with hazardous drug compounding and closed system transfer devices (CSTDs).
• Supervisory or lead pharmacist experience in a compounding setting.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $125,000 – $135,000+ depending on experience and certification.
