Senior Accountant (Remote)

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the finance function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant accounting processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. This role combines analytical rigor with attention to detail, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic financial objectives. You will interact with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to maintain financial integrity and facilitate informed decision-making. Working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, the Senior Accountant will drive efficiency, improve workflows, and contribute to the overall success of the finance team.
Accountabilities
· Perform complex vendor payment reconciliations, including explanations and resolutions with external parties.
· Manage interactions with independent contractors for prepayments, refunds, and application of payments.
· Support month-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and corrections.
· Execute full-cycle accounts payable: approval, recording, expense analysis, payment processing, and vendor management.
· Reconcile doctor-related A/P and issue payments according to terms.
· Review and resolve unpaid bills, unapplied credits, and outstanding checks from prior periods.
· Manage AP emails, including current invoicing, research on past payments, discrepancies, or open invoices.
· Provide intra-departmental support and cross-training across A/R and A/P functions.
· Assist with special projects as assigned to meet evolving business needs.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
· 3–5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally as a Staff or Senior Accountant.
· Experience with large ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage) preferred.
· Background in healthcare or health insurance accounting is a plus.
· Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
· Ethical, inquisitive, and detail-oriented with a positive attitude.
· Proficient computer literacy and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Self-paced, goal-oriented, and able to meet strict deadlines.
