Tax and Compliance Specialist
- Municipal Filings: Take full ownership of preparing and filing various municipal tax forms, ensuring total compliance with local regulations and strict deadlines.
- Records Governance: Build and maintain organized digital and physical archives to ensure all tax records are "audit-ready" and easily retrievable.
- Point of Contact: Act as the primary liaison for municipal tax inquiries and government document requests.
- Master Database Ownership: Manage the master Excel tracking system, performing routine "data scrubs" to ensure every data point is current and error-free.
- "Data Detective" Investigations: Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies between internal financial records and external tax filings.
- Audit Support: Reconcile historical data to support year-end audits and internal financial reviews.
- Workflow Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in current tracking methods and implement improved Excel templates or automation to reduce manual errors.
- Reporting: Provide leadership with clear status updates on filing progress and identified data trends.
- The Mindset: A proactive, "investigative" approach to work. You don't just enter data; you verify it.
- The Skills: Proficiency in Excel is a must (experience with VLOOKUPs, data validation, or auditing spreadsheets is highly preferred).
- The Experience: Entry-level candidates with analytical skills or recent graduates in Accounting/Finance are encouraged to apply.
- Location: Must be able to report on-site to our Sunrise, FL headquarters for an 8:00 AM shift.
