Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Inspector

Responsibilities:
Fire sprinkler -
- Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems.
- Sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge)
- Fire pumps and controllers
- Standpipe systems
- Identify deficiencies and non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, test results, and recommendations.
- Interpret and apply relevant fire codes and standards, such as NFPA, IFC, and local regulations.
- Communicate effectively with building owners, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding fire safety requirements and inspection results.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Stay up to date on the latest fire protection technologies, codes, and regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.
Fire Alarm -
- Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable NFPA codes with working knowledge of system controls, alarm panels, devices, and components.
- Input data and report deficiencies.
- Troubleshoot and repair deficiencies.
- Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
- Proper use and operation of tools needed to complete the inspection.
- Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled in a timely manner.
- On-call rotation with other technicians to manage emergency service and inspection requests.
- Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained as required by company policies.
- Ensure that all assigned tools are safeguarded and maintained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of experience in fire protection system installation or inspection, testing, and maintenance.
- Possess relevant State and/or National certifications, where applicable.
- Strong knowledge of fire codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IFC, IBC).
- Familiarity with various fire protection systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- 2+ years' experience inspecting and/or installing fire alarm systems required.
- 2 years experience with CCTV, Intrusion, & Card Access preferred
- Ability to use a computer, tablet and read electronic blueprints required.
- Building Reports experience preferred.
- Service Trade experience preferred.
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
- Must have NICET or Florida equivalent.
- Backflow Testing Certification and Repair Licensing preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday
