Payroll Processing Specialist
Ledgent is partnering with a valued client in the Clearwater/Feather Sound area to identify an experienced Payroll Processing Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional seeking long-term career growth with a stable and highly regarded organization.
This position will begin as an on-site role, providing the opportunity to collaborate closely with the payroll and HR teams. Upon successful conversion to a permanent employee, there may be the opportunity to transition into a hybrid work schedule based on performance and business needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume, multi-state payroll processing and must be experienced with ADP Workforce Now.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume, multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefit withholdings for accuracy.
- Process employee changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and compensation adjustments.
- Audit payroll data and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll transmission.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Process garnishments, levies, child support orders, and other payroll deductions.
- Research and resolve payroll-related questions from employees and management.
- Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end accounting functions.
- Support quarterly and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and payroll tax reporting.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data within ADP Workforce Now.
- Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Must-Have Experience
- Minimum 3 years of recent high-volume, multi-state payroll processing experience.
- Hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience is required.
- Experience processing payroll for large employee populations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance requirements.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency with ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, filtering, and report analysis.
- Experience reconciling payroll reports and auditing payroll data.
Professional Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism.
