GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Pediatric APRN provides high-quality, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate care to infants, children, and adolescents. This includes conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating common childhood illnesses, prescribing medications, and providing education and guidance to patients and families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prescribe medications and develop patient care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians as required by law.
- Provide anticipatory guidance and counsel families on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention, and age-appropriate developmental expectations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records in compliance with clinical guidelines and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education to stay current with clinical best practices.
- Rotate between clinical locations in Fort Myers, Estero, and Cape Coral as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Florida.
- National board certification in a pediatric specialty (e.g., PNP-PC, FNP with pediatric experience).
- Current DEA license and prescriptive authority in Florida.
- Active Florida Medicaid provider number or eligibility to obtain one.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of pediatric experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge in pediatric care, including acute, chronic, and preventative care.
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with children and their families.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and prescription systems.
- Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
POSTION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK : Full-time, Monday through Friday schedule with occasional extended hours as needed.
TRAVEL: Travel to other locations as needed between Fort Myers, Estero and Cape Coral FL.
