About the Position
- Assist cardiovascular surgeons during complex procedures such as open-heart surgeries, valve replacements, and bypass operations.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating environment, ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly set up and functioning.
- Perform circulating and/or scrub nurse roles, including passing instruments, managing supplies, and maintaining accurate surgical counts.
- Monitor patient condition throughout surgery, including vital signs, hemodynamic status, and response to anesthesia.
- Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists, to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols during all procedures.
- Document intraoperative care, patient status, and any complications accurately in the medical record.
Requirements
- 1 year of Open Heart (CVOR) RN experience in an Acute Care environment Required!
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
- BSN is preferred
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA Healthcare provider) required
- CNOR preferred
