The Clinical Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all clinical programming at Lotus Behavioral Health, an adolescent residential treatment program specializing in substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and payer requirements. The Clinical Director is responsible for developing and sustaining clinical excellence through program design, staff supervision, outcome measurement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Clinical Director plays a key role in fostering a culture of clinical integrity, accountability, innovation, and compassion, ensuring that adolescents and their families receive effective, developmentally appropriate care that promotes long-term recovery and emotional wellbeing. Clinical Leadership & Program Development
- Provide strategic direction and oversight of all clinical services within the adolescent residential treatment program.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve evidence-based treatment programming, including modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and family systems therapy.
- Ensure clinical services align with Lotus Behavioral Health’s mission of delivering holistic, family-centered recovery for adolescents.
- Monitor program effectiveness through clinical outcomes, performance metrics, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Design and oversee the annual clinical services plan, including treatment programming, therapeutic groups, and family engagement initiatives.
- Ensure clinical services maintain compliance with DCF, Joint Commission, insurance requirements, and other regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify service gaps and develop new clinical initiatives that improve patient outcomes and program growth.
- Oversee daily clinical operations including:
- Therapy, Treatment planning and case management
- Documentation and utilization review compliance
- Clinical scheduling and coverage
- Crisis management and safety procedures
- Ensure that all treatment services are delivered in accordance with evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
- Provide direct consultation on complex clinical cases and intervene when necessary to ensure appropriate care.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and multidisciplinary care coordination.
- Serve as a clinical decision-maker regarding patient care, program integrity, and ethical considerations.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to therapists and clinical staff.
- Establish staffing needs and participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of clinical personnel.
- Develop and oversee a competency-based clinical training program for therapists and interns.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and support professional growth through feedback, training, and coaching.
- Promote a positive workplace culture emphasizing team collaboration, accountability, and clinical excellence.
- Manage staff performance through corrective action processes when necessary.
- Provide supervision for clinical interns and licensure candidates when applicable.
- Ensure programming reflects best practices in adolescent behavioral health treatment.
- Promote strong family involvement and family therapy integration within treatment.
- Support clinicians in managing complex family dynamics, parental engagement, and reunification planning.
- Ensure treatment plans incorporate developmental, educational, and psychosocial needs of adolescent clients.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Oversee clinical compliance with:
- Insurance and utilization review requirements
• Joint Commission accreditation standards
• State and federal regulations - Participate in quality assurance initiatives, chart audits, and performance improvement projects.
- Respond to legal or regulatory inquiries related to clinical services.
- Maintain active professional licensure and required continuing education.
- Participate in leadership meetings, clinical trainings, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Remain current on best practices in adolescent mental health and substance use treatment.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance leadership and clinical expertise.
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.
- Active Florida clinical license required: LMHC; LCSW; LMFT; Psychologist
- Minimum 5 years of clinical leadership or supervisory experience, preferably within a residential treatment setting.
- Experience working with adolescents and families in behavioral health or substance use treatment.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies such as DCF and The Joint Commission preferred.

- Must be able to respond appropriately and effectively in crisis situations by using good judgment and following Lotus Behavioral Health protocols.
