Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a full-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to serve K-12 students for the uping 25/26 school year in Port Charlotte, FL. This contract position is set for the duration of the next school year, providing essential support and instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for DHH students across grades K-12.
• Utilize appropriate munication methods, including sign language, auditory training, and assistive technology to enhance student learning.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and parents to support student progress.
• Monitor student academic and social development, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
• Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in deaf education.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience working with K-12 DHH students preferred.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly desired.
• Strong munication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to create inclusive and supportive classroom environments.
