About the Opportunity

Select Gourmet Foods is launching in Miami and we're hiring our first sales rep.

We distribute authentic Italian and Mediterranean products to restaurants - the kind of ingredients that make chefs stop what they're doing and pay attention. Parmigiano Reggiano that's actually aged 24 months. San Marzano tomatoes with the DOP certification. Prosciutto di Parma that tastes like it should. 100% Ibérico de Bellota from Spain.

We're looking for someone who knows Miami's restaurant scene and can build relationships with chefs and buyers. This is a ground-floor role - you'll work directly with ownership and help shape how we grow.

If you've spent years in restaurants and want to stay in the industry without the kitchen hours, or if you're already in food sales and want to sell products you're actually proud of, this could be your move.

Italian Cheeses:

• Parmigiano Reggiano (24+ month aged)
• Pecorino Romano, Pecorino Toscano
• Gorgonzola Dolce and Piccante
• Buffalo Mozzarella di Campania
• Burrata, Stracciatella
• Taleggio, Fontina, Provolone

Cured Meats:

• Prosciutto di Parma (16-24 month)
• Prosciutto San Daniele
• Mortadella di Bologna
• Coppa, Guanciale, Pancetta
• Bresaola
• Italian salami varieties

Spanish Products:

• 100% Ibérico de Bellota (acorn-fed)
• Jamón Ibérico
• Ibérico lomo, chorizo, salchichón

Pantry:

• San Marzano DOP tomatoes
• Caputo 00 and Semola flour
• Artisan dried pasta
• Extra virgin olive oils
• Aged balsamic vinegar
• Truffle products

Other:

• Bindi frozen desserts and pastries
• Argentinian beef
• Specialty seafood

Your Role

Day to day:

• Prospect new restaurant accounts - cold calls, emails, walk-ins
• Meet with chefs and buyers to present products
• Conduct tastings
• Build and maintain relationships with accounts
• Take orders and coordinate with operations
• Grow existing accounts by expanding what they buy

Territory:

• Miami-Dade County
• Focus areas: Coral Gables, South Beach, Brickell, Coconut Grove, Design District, Wynwood, MiMo, Downtown

Target customers:

• Upscale Italian restaurants
• Mediterranean and Spanish restaurants
• Chef-driven independents
• Hotel restaurants and catering
• Country clubs

Who We're Looking For

Ideal candidate:

• Restaurant industry background - you understand how kitchens work and what chefs need
• Sales ability - comfortable approaching new people and asking for business
• Existing relationships with Miami restaurants is a huge plus
• Knowledge of Italian/Mediterranean cuisine and products
• Self-starter who can manage their own schedule
• Reliable car and valid license
• Based in Miami

We'll consider:

• Current food/beverage sales reps who want better products
• Chefs or sous chefs ready to leave the line but stay in food
• Restaurant managers or sommeliers moving into sales
• Front of house veterans who know how to build relationships
• Anyone with sales talent and passion for quality food

• You know people in Miami restaurants, OR
• You have the hustle to build those relationships from zero
• You care about the difference between real Parmigiano and the pre-grated stuff
