Royal Caribbean Group’s Sales Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Specialist, Shore Excursions Group Sales RCI reporting to the Supervisor, Shore Ex Sales and Ops.
This position will be working onsite from Miami.
Position Summary :
This individual is responsible for actively seeking and selling shore excursions to affinity and corporate groups as well as global full ship charters for the Royal brand. This individual will be involved in the day-to-day sales and promotion of our group shore excursions. They are expected to work closely with the Field, Corporate and Internal Sales Teams, Corporate Event Planners, Charter Account Executives, travel partners, IR Offices, CO Teams and direct clients. They are responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue targets together while maintaining and delivering the highest level of sales and customer service. They maintain a strong sales focus and consistently explore ways to develop new business by using leads provided through Salesforce, through internal and external contacts and asking existing clients for new business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Successfully educate travel partners, Field, Corporate and Internal Sales Teams and clients about the value and benefit of purchasing our Shore Excursion Program. During sales opportunities, consistently provide a combination of our standard tours and customized experiences, well suited to the needs of the client. Maximize shore excursion revenue by customizing, up-selling, recommending VIP experiences and providing unique shore excursion options to our various clients and partners.
- Builds and maintain strong relationships with the Internal Sales Teams and key business partners to develop and generate business and client referrals. Responsible for accurate and timely recording of full account information and activity into the Salesforce system. Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities, including the use of Salesforce.com. Work on developing deposited sales leads provided through the Salesforce system.
- Professionally prepare power point and written presentations, proposals, contracts; assist with site inspection requests in line with company and department standards. Additionally, work with Shore Excursions Account Managers and Tour Operators to design customized Shore Excursions best suited to client preferences.
- Collaborate with team members to build our library of unique experiences for use with effectively present to a wide range of audiences from travel partners, travel executives to internal executives and sales teams.
- Conduct training sessions with internal departments on group shore excursion programs/options and the importance of capturing the group shore excursion business.
- Participate in sales events, trade shows, training opportunities, site inspections, familiarization tours and assist on-site for cruises as required.

- Determine appropriate group tour pricing inclusive of margins and commission to travel partners. Individual is empowered to negotiate pricing within pre-established parameters and determine most attractive commission program that will entice a travel partner or group leader to do business with us.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills :
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Minimum 3 years direct sales experience in a travel related field. Cruise industry experience a plus.
- Proven ability to meet sales quotas.
- Excellent understanding of sales process from initial inquiry to closing sale.
- Destination knowledge required.
- Must be an effective and professional communicator through both verbal and written word.
- Salesforce.com proficiency and experience a plus.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, work independently, take initiative to prioritize and complete multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Highly self- motivated with the ability and initiative to perform well under the pressures of a busy sales and service environment and exceed ambitious group shore excursion sales targets.
- Exhibit professionalism, confidence and excellent communication skills when dealing with challenging customers or business situation.
- Excellent listening skills, ability to understand a client's needs and creative problem solving skills necessary, to deliver a client's request and close the sale.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with colleagues, other departments and customers, both independently and within a multi-team environment.
- Ability to learn and use multiple computer systems effectively including knowledge of a Windows environment with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Office 365.
- Travel may be required for training, presentations, conventions, assist with groups on board or other sales functions.
