Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Processing – Pre-Analytical Assistant I to support our client’s medical facility based in Tampa FL 33617 This is a 3 -month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title: Specimen Processing – Pre-Analytical Assistant I (3rd Shift)
Location: Tampa, FL 33617
Pay Range: $19 – $19.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:00 AM – 9:30 AM
Duration: 3+ Months (with potential for extension)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Pre-Analytical Assistant I to join our Specimen Processing team on the 3rd shift in Tampa FL 33617. In this essential role, you’ll provide vital support within the Technical Operations department, ensuring specimens are accurately sorted, processed, and delivered for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform essential specimen processing functions including sorting, racking, centrifuging, aliquoting, and storage

Pick up and deliver specimens to the laboratory

Identify and help resolve specimen issues (e.g., missing information, incorrect type)

Follow compliance protocols and adapt to regulatory changes

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Meet quality and productivity standards after training

Support team needs, including weekend, holiday, and overtime coverage

Perform additional duties as needed

What We’re Looking For:

High School Diploma or GED required

Strong understanding of written and spoken English

Reliable transportation

Availability to work full scheduled shift and maintain excellent attendance

Ability to handle repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver specimen carts

Comfort working in a biohazard lab environment (PPE provided)

Medical or clinical laboratory experience is a plus

Familiarity with medical terminology and mainframe computers is helpful
