Gainesville Regional Utilities Job Summary GRU are seeking an experienced and highly organized Account Clerk, Senior to support critical accounting, reporting, payroll, and administrative functions for a fast-paced Energy Supply operational team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys keeping processes on track, communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. As an Account Clerk, Senior, you will perform advanced clerical and accounting support work involving timekeeping, fuels reporting, travel support, meeting coordination, purchasing support, and financial record maintenance. You will also serve as an important point of coordination between your supervisor, team members, and internal business partners. The ideal candidate is a team player who is dependable, organized, and proactive. They communicate clearly, follow through on assignments, and are comfortable balancing a variety of administrative, reporting, and financial support responsibilities. They take pride in producing accurate work, supporting others, and helping the team operate efficiently. Candidates selected to move forward in the process will be required to complete an assessment of relevant skills for the role.Compensation Data Minmum: $19.09 Maximum: $26.72FLSA Exemption StatusNon-ExemptSummary Performs the highest level of non-degreed accounting and/or utility billing functions, including, but not limited to analyzing and resolving billing and accounts payable issues, customer and financial database records maintenance, and other complex financial and records functions. Performs lead account clerk work involving administration of contracts, preparation and monitoring of department budgets, training, development and coordination of support staff, preparation of fiscal reports, and/or maintenance of complex financial and billing records, and the handling of complex and sensitive financial matters. Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor or manager, and work under general supervision with limited direction. Work in this class is distinguished from higher classes by its lack of management responsibility and from lower classes by its performance of high-level account clerical responsibilities, including acting as lead worker to other account clerks. Examples of Work Interacts with Budget & Finance to ensure accuracy of purchase requisitions and purchase orders. other departments to ensure appropriate billing of utility services to customers. Acts as Capital liaison by troubleshooting issues related to accounts payable and procurement. Manages distribution lists for capital and fuels reporting. Publishes bi-monthly material code list on intranet. Maintains department purchase order and change order forms, ensuring updates are posted to intranet. Prepares and distributes fuels reports. Acts as Payroll Liaison/Timekeeper for specific area Interacts with project managers and ES staff to vendor representatives and handles capital and fuels complaint discrepancy issues. Ensures that processes and reports comply with appropriate City policies and procedures. Processes, reconciles, and audits travel requests and reports and ensures compliance with appropriate City policies and procedures. Attends work on a continuous and regular basis. Examples of Work (continued) Non-Essential Functions: Required to respond in emergency conditions. Performs other duties as assigned.Education Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. An Associate of Arts degree with at least 12 semester hours of accounting can be substituted for one year of experience.
