Description
Deerfield Corporate Services is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This exempt, full-time role reports directly to the Controller and plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of our organization.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for month-end close activities, general ledger reconciliations, accounts receivable and revenue maintenance, audit support, and a variety of core accounting functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with senior leadership.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end close activities and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze asset, liability, and capital account entries
- Maintain revenue and accounts receivable systems
- Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and financial reports
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
- Support annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles
- Maintain accounting controls, policies, and procedures
- Prepare payments and verify supporting documentation
- Research accounting regulations and answer procedural questions
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and company information
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by senior management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with an Accounting emphasis (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
- Experience with QuickBooks or an ERP system
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (filtering, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Experience with intercompany transactions
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
