At KIK Consumer Products, you’ll work with a team that cares about one another and the work we deliver. As part of our maintenance organization, you’ll keep a high-volume manufacturing plant running safely and efficiently by tackling mechanical, electrical, and PLC controls challenges.

A Day in the Life

Start your day on the production floor, move from a PLC program upload to a drive fault diagnosis, then pivot to calibrating a transmitter for a process loop. You will:

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain plant electrical systems and components such as motors of all types, starters, breakers, transformers, isolation switches, relays, fuses, resistors, HVAC units, valves, AC/DC drives, cables (electrical, fiber optic, coaxial), conduit, receptacles, PLCs, heaters, control panels, lighting panels, distributed controls, UPS, fire/emergency alarms, and handle safe disposal of bulbs/hazardous materials.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation including transmitters of all types, valves, I/Ps, positioners, actuators, dampers, flow meters, and level sensors.
• Prioritize and complete multiple work orders across controls systems, motors, mechanical equipment, PLC programming, and related tasks.
• Resolve maintenance and emergency issues: verify configuration and health of motors and electrical systems, take voltage and amperage readings, trace wiring, assess relays and sensors, evaluate wiring integrity, and check breakers/fuses to restore uptime safely.
• Communicate technical issues clearly in a business setting and remain composed and professional during equipment downtime.
• Use MS Windows, industrial software, and SAP daily for diagnostics, documentation, and parts/work order management.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians on shift and support mechanical repairs when appropriate.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering and Project Management to deliver capital and improvement projects.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands-on PLC troubleshooting and programming experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Associate degree in an electronics discipline and/or Electrical diploma/certificate with 3+ years’ experience; or 5+ years of directly related experience.
• Proficiency with SAP and comfort with MS Windows and industrial software tools.
• Ability to train and coach peers; adaptable to shifting priorities and assignments.
• Strong problem solver who defines issues and generates options; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Advanced electrical controls troubleshooting skills; reads electrical drawings/schematics with ease.
• Knowledge of E-Stops and other safety circuits; familiar with NFPA 70 and 70E.
• Instrumentation knowledge with analog/digital I/O; configure IP and serial ports for PLC/HMI connectivity.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley toolsets including RSLogix 5, 500, 5000 (Studio 5000) and automated control networks (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs).
• Comfort programming in ladder logic and function block, using PLC tag structures, and configuring PLC hardware.
• Understands process flow and related system design; capable of troubleshooting, testing, installing, and documenting program changes, including proper download/retrieval of machine programs.
• Ability to remove/install pre-calibrated process instruments (transmitters, digital readouts).
• Fluent with electrical test equipment (multi-meter, meager, phase finder, etc.) and hand tools.
• Physically able to lift up to 60 lbs and bend, twist, reach, push, and lift for extended periods.
• Accurate, timely completion of daily paperwork and records.

Compensation matters. The base hourly range for this role is $36–$41/HR. Actual pay may vary based on relevant skills/experience, time in role, business line, and geographic/office location.
