Security Guard/ Maintenance Technician

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Security Guard, where your vigilance and proactive approach will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for Residents and employees by patrolling and monitoring campus. Responds to calls for assistance after hours via Emergency Alert System and/or phone call. Minor maintenance requests will also be included.

Shift

Every day from 7p to 11p

What you’ll do

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers; summoning assistance from 911 if necessary.
• Answering calls for assistance from Residents and visitors.
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations in all campus buildings.
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
• Routine maintenance duties may include: fixing wall and/or floor coverings; repairing furniture and fixtures; performing basic plumbing work; performing minor electrical repairs; repairing appliances; painting and refurbishing projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic qualifications

• Proven ability to remain alert and focused during shifts.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and the public.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in law enforcement or military service is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with surveillance systems.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus.
• Knowledge of conflict management techniques.
