We are looking for someone to hold a leadership role with a strong background in training.

Veterinary Technician experience is required. Pay is based on knowledge and experience.

Requirements &Responsibilities:

Certified Veterinary Technicians are expected to be able to perform the following:

• Handling and restraining patients for exams and procedures
• Assist in the taking of x-rays
• Fecal parasite sample collection and preparation
• Use of Idexx in-house laboratory equipment
• Use of Cornerstone practice management system
• Preparation of a prescription drug, other than a controlled substance, for dispensing
• Monitor and collect urine and fecal samples as needed
• Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized/boarded patients
• Care of hospitalized/boarded patients as needed
• Collecting diagnostic samples including blood
• Use a microscope for description of various samples
• Catheter placement
• Administration of medication by mouth, IM, IV and SQ
• Monitor anesthesia and place endotracheal tubes
• Perform dental cleanings
• Conduct training and provide supervision to other staff members.
• Conduct inventory counts and supply/product orders

At times ALL STAFF is expected to assist with the following when needed:

• Bathe, walk, water, and feed patients in the hospital
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and runs for patients
• assist in stocking of supplies throughout hospital
• Responsible for routine cleaning/maintenance of hospital

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Veterinary Technician: 5 years (Required)
• IV catheterization: 5 years (Required)
• Animal Blood draw: 5 years (Required)
• Anesthesia Monitoring: 5 years (Required)
• Dental prophy: 5 years (Required)
• Surgical Technician: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Veterinary Technician Certification (Required)
