Gulf Coast Medical Center is searching for a Student Nurse to join our team in MPCU and become part of Southwest Floridas premier community-owned health system.

PRN Student Nurse Apprentice - Team members in this Student Nurse job are responsible for providing patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse. Additional responsibilities include: implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health and social needs, comfort, safety, and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition, fluid, and elimination needs.

Qualifications for this position: Must have completed the foundations/fundamentals semester of an accredited nursing program. If selected for an interview the student will provide an official transcript from your school, a current Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and a self assessment provided by Human Resources.

Summary

Enrolled as a Nursing Student in an accredited Registered Nurse program or approved Licensed Practical Nurse program.

Basic Life Support (BLS) current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.

Communication, interpersonal, basic computer, and customer service skills are required. Demonstrates a working knowledge of medical terminology.
