Staff Accountant III
Description
The Staff Accountant III plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. This position requires a high level of analytical skills, technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage complex financial processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving capabilities, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive financial statements in compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including complex reconciliations, adjustments, and preparation of schedules for audit purposes.
- Interact with the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring stringent compliance with internal controls and timely processing of transactions to optimize cash flow.
- Maintain and enhance the general ledger, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all financial data and addressing discrepancies with a proactive approach.
- Conduct detailed budget variance analysis and forecasting, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and ensure compliance with all tax filings, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and any other regulatory requirements, while generally staying updated on changes in tax laws.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audit processes, providing comprehensive documentation and analysis to support findings.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
- Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements within the accounting function to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CMA or CPA certification or progress towards certification is preferred.
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment, with a solid understanding of both financial and managerial accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and high-level expertise in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw actionable insights.
- Proven experience in preparing detailed financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and financial modeling.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position typically operates in an office environment with standard office hours. Flexibility in hours may be required during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end closings, as well as during audit cycles.

In performing the above responsibilities, the Staff Accountant III maintains the following relationships:
- The incumbent is accountable to the VP of Finance for interpreting and fulfilling the above responsibilities and others, which may be assigned.
