Staff Accountant

Optimum RV is a premier RV dealership committed to providing quality service and a wide selection of recreational vehicles. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting duties, including maintaining financial records and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate with team members and departments.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Maintenance :

• Prepare journal entries and post them to the general ledger.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor and analyze financial transactions and resolve discrepancies.

Accounts Payable & Receivable :

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy.
• Reconcile and pay warranty accounts.

Bank Reconciliations :

• Perform daily or monthly bank reconciliations to verify account balances.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between the company's books and bank records.

Month End

• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile credit card statements.

Continuous Improvement :

• Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s)
