Software Engineer, Subscriptions

This position is US based only.

We're looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our Subscriptions team. In this role, you'll help build the revenue infrastructure that powers Nitro , Boosts, and many other Discord products. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Design, and other teams to create best in class experiences for our users and accelerate product development teams. What You'll Be Doing

• Work with other full-stack engineers on your team to build new capabilities related to subscription management, perk fulfillment, discounts, and recurring billing. You will work across Web, Android, iOS, and beyond.


• Own problems end to end — through defining technical specifications, implementing changes, and launch.


• Work closely with growth and product engineering teams to build an internal platform that drives user acquisition, activation, and retention.


• Create novel ways for users to experience the premium Discord experience through features like Nitro Credits .


• Collaborate with the Payments and Financial Platform engineering teams to build, maintain, and extend highly available and resilient infrastructure for payments and order processing.


• Contribute to a fast-paced engineering team by rapidly prototyping new features and developing principled learnings through experimentation.

What you should have

• 3+ years of software engineering experience. We primarily work in the web (React, TypeScript), Android (React Native, Kotlin), iOS (React Native, Objective-C, Swift), and backend (Python).


• A growth mindset . You view challenges and mistakes as learning opportunities while building upon your successes. You push yourself and those around you to continuously improve.


• Product and platform sense . You maintain a high degree of empathy for both your internal and external users, and seek feedback from them about your work.


• Experience with billing . You understand the core concepts of payments processing, recurring billing, and integrations with the Google Play and Apple App stores.

This position is based in San Francisco.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $180,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
