Part-Time Physical Education & Fit for Life Teacher

Forest Lake Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, Christ-centered, and student-focused Part-Time Physical Education & Fit for Life Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop lifelong habits of physical fitness, wellness, teamwork, and healthy living while fostering a positive learning environment that reflects the mission and values of Forest Lake Academy. This position includes teaching Physical Education and Fit for Life courses for students in grades 9–12. The ideal candidate is passionate about student development, builds meaningful relationships with young people, and creates engaging learning experiences that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

• Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Education, or a related field.
  • Holds or is eligible to obtain a valid Florida Educator Certificate in Physical Education (K–12) or meets all Florida requirements for instructional personnel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in physical education and wellness instruction.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
  • Proficient in educational technology and digital classroom tools.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience at the middle or high school level.
  • Experience teaching health, wellness, or life fitness courses.
  • Experience coaching or leading athletic programs is a plus.
  • Commitment to Christian education and mentoring students in their academic, physical, and spiritual growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned Physical Education and Fit for Life classes using engaging, student-centered instructional practices.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Florida standards and school curriculum.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom and athletic environment.
• Promote lifelong fitness, healthy nutrition, wellness, and personal responsibility.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and performance.
• Effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty, and administration regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
• Maintain classroom equipment and ensure adherence to all safety protocols.
• Support the overall mission, philosophy, and spiritual emphasis of Forest Lake Academy.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as assigned.
• Model professionalism, integrity, and Christian values in all interactions.
