Minimum Qualifications of Candidate
The Department is seeking a Project Manager professional with the following minimum qualifications (these
qualifications must be clearly stated on the resume and verifiable via reference checks):
Academic:
* Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Bachelors degree in: Computer Science, Information
Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience. Project Management
certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is required.
Experience:
* 7+ years of project management experience. Experience managing large-scale software implementation projects.
Experience managing multiple projects or programs, Experience with projects in multiple technologies and
functions. Experience documenting technical and business requirement specifications.
Additional Desired Skills:
* Ability to act as the primary Project Manager for all software application projects. Works with the PMO Manager
to determine and distribute assignments.
* Possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools,
resource management practices and change management techniques.
* Understands complex web-based computer applications and has the ability to guide programming staff through
projects.
* Ability to document business and technical requirements and processes that can be understood and used by
other technical staff.
* Strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assignments.
General:
* Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to self-learn/learn tools of trade and adapt to different environments with little
or no guidance.
* Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to successfully translate
business language into technical specifications and present them to non-technical staff using terminology they
can understand and relate to.
* Office Tools - Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word, working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
Excellent at time management, estimating level of effort, and meeting or exceeding deadlines.
* Team Player Willing and able to mentor other technical staff and share knowledge.
