Position: Audit Staff

: We are seeking an experienced Audit Staff to join our dynamic team. As an Audit Staff at MSL, you will play a crucial role in leading and executing audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in audit engagements from initiation to completion, ensuring that work is completed within predetermined time budgets and planning.
• Collaborate with other team members, as well as client management and personnel across all levels to effectively deliver services.
• Inspect transactions to determine if accepted accounting procedure was followed in recording transactions.
• Count cash on hand, inspect notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and canceled checks.
• Verify journal and ledger entries of cash and check payments, purchases, expenses, and trial balances by examining and authenticating inventory items.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from a regionally accredited college or university.
• One to three years of public accounting experience
• Active state Certified Public Accountant license or equivalent recognized by the firm (e.g. Chartered Professional Accountant) preferred, not required.
• Active driver's license and proof of insurance
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB standards.
• Proven track record of leading multiple engagements to successful outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Preferred practice areas of experience:
• Governmental (State Universities & Colleges, School Districts, Counties, Healthcare Districts, Housing Finance Authorities, Municipalities, State Agencies, Transportation Authorities, and Utility Authorities)
• Healthcare (Long-term care, Senior housing, Hospitals & health systems, Physician practices, and Community-based healthcare)
• Middle-Market (High Tech, Manufacturing, Professional services, High net worth individuals, Tourism and hospitality)
