Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician role involves the maintenance, repair, and optimization of industrial machinery and heavy equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a range of mechanical systems and equipment, a strong troubleshooting ability, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, heavy equipment, and related systems in two general buildings.
• Work with equipment such as hydraulic presses, welding machines, automated saws, air systems, lathes (CNC & manual), pneumatic equipment, and water jet machines.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions.
• Replace defective parts, including gears, bearings, and other components.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical problems and develop appropriate repair strategies.
• Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper setup and calibration for optimal performance.
• Adjust and fine-tune equipment settings based on operational requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent.
• Prepare reports on equipment status and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, particularly with heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance repair.
• Experience in manufacturing, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
• Electrical experience is a plus.
• Good communication skills; Spanish speaker is a plus.
• Punctual, reliable, and conscientious with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and drive projects.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., noise, dust, temperature extremes).

Work Environment

The work week is Monday through Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm, in an open-air manufacturing environment. The role requires working in a non-climate-controlled setting, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
