Tax Manager (Public Accounting) - Tampa, FL (onsite, hybrid schedule)

We are a premier Tampa-based CPA firm seeking a Tax Manager who values high-touch client relationships and strategic tax planning. This role focuses on helping privately held, for-profit companies and their owners coordinate tax strategies, avoid surprises, and scale their businesses. You will lead engagements, mentor staff, and serve as a key voice in the firm’s operational and development committees.

Location & Work Format

• Location: Downtown Tampa, FL.

• Format: Hybrid schedule available (provides on-site support to teammates and clients).

• Relocation: No (Local candidates only).

Key Responsibilities

• Tax Advisory & Compliance: Manage services for pass-through entities across industries including Construction, Manufacturing, Retail, and Professional Services.

• Technical Research: Conduct complex tax research and provide written correspondence using a deep understanding of the IRC and Treasury Regulations.

• Client Management: Independently build and manage client relationships, including billing and collections.

• Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop professional tax staff while managing multiple concurrent engagements.

• Firm Advocacy: Participate in internal committees focused on staff development, client service, and firm operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Licensing: Active CPA license is required.

• Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, including technical tax consulting and research.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Software: Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax, Engagement, and Document is a significant plus.
