Culinary Program Manager/Chef
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Culinary Program Manager to lead our growing prepared meal program. This position is responsible for creating nutritious and appealing weekly menus, managing food production, overseeing inventory and ordering, ensuring food safety and allergy compliance, and leading a small production team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a chef who enjoys both culinary creativity and operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop weekly and seasonal menus.
- Create recipes, portion standards, and production schedules.
- Manage food ordering, and inventory for this program.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
- Design menus that accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special nutritional needs.
- Oversee food preparation, packaging, labeling, and quality control.
- Supervise and train the production cook/delivery team member.
- Monitor food costs and minimize waste.
- Ensure meals are prepared accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
- Continuously improve recipes, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- 5+ years of professional culinary experience.
- Previous experience creating menus for meal prep, catering, healthcare, or institutional food service preferred.
- Strong understanding of common food allergies, cross-contact prevention, and special diets.
- Experience supervising kitchen staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management and purchasing.
- ServSafe Manager Certification (preferred or required).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Passionate about creating delicious, nutritious meals.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Highly organized and process-oriented.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Takes ownership of projects from planning through execution.
