Project Accountant

Dynamic opportunity to join a growing company in the commercial construction industry! This role is the Lead for the accounts payable process, overseeing & managing transactions and payments while maintaining vendor relationships, analyzing financial data, cost & inventory reporting and contributing to the continuous improvement & efficiencies of the accounts payable process. We are looking for a "take-charge" professional who doesn't just process transactions but actively seeks out ways to improve workflows and streamline financial data. salary: $62,000 - $65,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Approves new vendors and reviews ERP set-up to ensure accuracy.
• Responsible for responding to vendor inquiries, vendor statement reconciliations & ensure all invoices are captured in the system on a timely basis.
• Review, verify and provide final approval for invoices by ensuring accuracy & appropriate documentation.
• Prepare, process, and submit check files, wire transfers, ACH payments, and positive pay.
• Prepare various job cost and inventory reports.
• Process and pay monthly Sales and Use taxes, according to state tax laws.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures and provide support for internal and external audits.
• Prepare annual 1099 forms for recipients at year-end, in compliance with IRS rules and regulations.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable system.
• Other duties as assigned and necessary.
