Director of Employment Transition Services
MISSION:
The mission of BAC is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.
JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees all employment service contracts, grants, and any other revenue sources for the BAC in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and laws. Position is primarily focused on directing, coaching, developing, and evaluating other people. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop and implement policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization’s business strategies.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Ensures the department’s activities are orchestrated to achieve established goals and objectives, effectiveness of services and contract fulfillment, and sound fiscal management.
- Provides leadership for department staff and contract management personnel to ensure satisfactory achievement of responsibilities, legal compliance, and promotion of positive employee relations.
- Develops short and long term strategic and operational planning and goals to ensure that performance service goals and objectives are met; monitors and makes changes as needed.
- Represents the BAC and develops professional affiliations with government, community and business organizations and funding sources to create beneficial associations and partnerships.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of records, invoices, and reports to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with legal, funding, and accreditation standards; prepares reports for management as necessary or requested.
- Executive Leader responsible for program or department staff for successful performance on external audits.
- Creates new or updates existing programs to stay current with the employment services and Agency for Persons with Disabilities industries, researches funding opportunities through grants or special projects.
- Responsible for directing all administrative functions in accordance with industry standards, regulatory agencies, and company objectives and policies.
- Leads various meetings within the organization with key stakeholders and funding sources and includes preparing and presenting.
- May be required to sit on agency related committees at the discretion of the President and CEO
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Assesses and monitors work methods and procedures; identifies opportunities for improvement and implements changes.
- Oversees and/or participates in the development and administration of budgets; approves the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; approves expenditures and implements budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, behavioral science or related field; supplemented by ten or more years of progressively responsible experience working with individuals with disabilities (IWD), vocational rehabilitation, and community relations, including at least three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
- Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements. May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with disability-service.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge of community organizations and social service programs.
- Advanced knowledge of principles and procedures for employee support services.
- Advanced knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and applicable department/organization specific software.
- Ability to handle confidential employment information with tact and discretion.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret program related laws and regulations and establish necessary work processes and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Ability to lead and motivate others to achieve goals.
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to arrive at solutions and suggest improvements to processes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 40 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time sitting at a workstation and utilizing a keyboard. The above requirements can be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (example dirt, cold, heat, rain, fumes).
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
Availability: Full-time
Salary: Starting at $90,000
