The Executive Bookkeeper will play a crucial dual-role at Spartan Race, Inc., overseeing essential financial functions while also providing high-level administrative and personal financial support to the CEO. This position requires a seasoned bookkeeping professional with impeccable organizational skills, discretion, and flexibility. This is not a traditional Monday–Friday role; the ideal candidate is adaptable and comfortable supporting a high-performance executive environment that operates outside standard business hours.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Financial Duties
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure financial accuracy.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and employee reimbursements promptly.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage vendor accounts and track payment schedules.
- Conduct periodic audits of financial data and records.
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls and accounting regulations.
CEO Financial & Administrative Support
- Provide personal financial assistance to the CEO, including managing expense tracking and reporting.
- Support administrative tasks such as calendar coordination, document preparation, and vendor communications related to personal or executive matters.
- Assist in managing sensitive and confidential financial information with the utmost discretion.
- Be available outside typical business hours as needed to support the dynamic and fast-paced schedule of the CEO.

- Support and manage internal and external projects from concept through execution.
- Create timelines, track progress, and manage deliverables.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or staff accounting roles.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
