Title: Permitting Coordinator
Location: Orlando – Corporate Office (100% in-person office role)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Commence is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Permitting Coordinator to manage the permit application process, track approvals, and ensure compliance with local regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Reports to: VP of Operations
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Permit Application & Coordination: Work with local government agencies to apply for permits, relay comments to the Engineers Design Lead, and facilitate payments.
- Permit Tracking & Compliance: Maintain permit status, track expiration dates, and request checks for permit-related expenses.
- Municipality & Client Liaison: Act as the primary contact between Commence, Business Development Manager, the customers, and municipalities to obtain necessary approvals and ensure smooth communication.
- In Person Submissions: Regularly travel to submit and pick up permits at designated jurisdictions
- Utility Coordination: Schedule inspections for electric and water meter applications, underground conduit installation and permanent power connections with utility engineers.
- Plan Modifications: Request non-structural changes to design plan architects and engineers to expedite the approval process.
- Records & Reporting: Update CrewReport and all associated permitting tasks to monitor the progress of permits, utilities, and certificates of occupancy (COs).
- Public Works & ROW Permits: Work with public works departments in markets that require right-of-way (ROW) permits and ensure timely submissions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Verify that all product approvals meet or exceed municipal requirements.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Occasionally lift and move office supplies (up to 20 lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work is performed in an office environment with standard lighting, temperature, and noise levels.
