The Florida Commission on Offender Review, formerly known as the Florida Parole Commission, is looking to fill the Operations Analyst II - CS position. The Commission on Offender Review performs a vital role in Florida’s criminal justice system by preserving the autonomy needed in post-release decisions affecting inmates and ex-offenders. The commission functions as a quasi-judicial, decision-making body. Commissioners preside over weekly meetings at the central office in Tallahassee and various other state locations as required by statute. During these public proceedings, the commissioners make a variety of determinations regarding parole and other releases.

Position Description

  • Track, receive, and log all active and upcoming parole interviews state-wide for all parole eligible inmates, all parolees, as well as supervision reviews for all individuals currently under Conditional Release Supervision (CRS).
  • Assist the other Operations Analyst II in determining parole eligibility.
  • Schedule parole interviews, parole supervision review, and CRS review cases for dockets.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic files for active parole eligible inmates, active parolees, and those currently under CRS.
  • Create and organize all weekly Parole Hearing dockets: creating templates in Microsoft Word, running codes/jobs in the Corrections Data Center (CDC) in order to generate docket pages, and working with other sections in the agency to compile all necessary paperwork into one unified docket for dispersal among the Commission (process is subject to change with new VNL and CMS program – automation of agenda and docket).
  • Compile lists of visitors for all upcoming cases, route mail correspondences, as well as keep addresses for visitors and parolees up to date.
  • Process continuance requests and incoming public records requests as needed.
  • Process all incoming mail and e-mail correspondences and disperse as needed – this includes responding to general public questions and concerns, inmate inquiries, inmate family inquiries, etc.
  • Answer phones and assist the public with questions
  • Serve as inmate family coordinator, assisting family members during weekly Parole Hearings.
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position:

  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of assignments

Preference may be given to applicants that possess a college degree from an accredited college or university.

As a part of the interview process, a written work sample may be given at the start/conclusion of the verbal interview.
