Staff Accountant
Ocala Breeders’ Sales
Is seeking a staff accountant to join our team!
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations of an equine auction company.
Responsibilities include but not limited to
· Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
· Prepare and post journal entries for accurate financial reporting
· Work with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies
· Assist with audits by providing documentation
· Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
· Assist with processing credit requests for potential horse buyers
Ideal candidate will have
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (5+ years accounting experience may substitute)
· Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
· Excellent organizational and time management abilities
· Prior experience in an accounting or finance role, within the Thoroughbred industry a plus
