This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Region IV Community Corrections in the Regional Directors Office.
The mission of Correctional Services Consultant is to provide comprehensive training and mentorship to recruits, ensuring adherence to guidelines and fostering professional development, while efficiently managing resources and logistics to support the mission of the South East Basic Recruit Academy (SEBRA).
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee daily operations of the Southeast Basic Recruit Academy (SEBRA) and ensure compliance with FDLE and Staff Development Guidelines.
- Interact with recruits daily, provide guidance, schedule instructors, and ensure logistics are in place.
- Plan, manage, and administer training programs, collect data, and report to the Community Corrections Regional Director.
- Assist with scheduling and instructing various training courses, update lesson plans, and manage training materials.
- Manage regional fleet activities, including maintenance, repairs, and accident paperwork, and provide help desk assistance for the FLEET system.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be Correctional Probation officer certified.
- Must be willing to travel overnight as necessary to conduct/facilitate training as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- General Instructor Techniques certified.
- Firearms Instructor certified.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
