Medical Assistant | South Venice, FL | $18-$22/hour | Temp-Perm

Overview:

Seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to support clinical and front-desk operations. This safety-sensitive role involves direct patient care, administrative support, and collaboration with providers to deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Room patients, take vitals, update EMR with history & medications
• Assist provider with exams, procedures, and treatments
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, in-office diagnostics & CLIA-waived labs
• Administer medications, start/monitor IVs (if certified)
• Provide patient education and follow-up calls
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and sterilize equipment
• Handle front desk tasks: phones, scheduling, check-in/out, referrals
• Track inventory and order medical/office supplies
• Train new team members as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; Medical Assistant certification preferred
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant
• CPR certification preferred; IV and phlebotomy experience a plus
• EMR and basic computer proficiency (Google Suite, Microsoft Office)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 15 lbs

* Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.

* Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

* Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.

* Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.

* Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.

* Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.

* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.

* Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.

* Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.

* Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.

* Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.

* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
