Registered Nurse- Med Surg (Permanent Role)

Location: Panama City, FL, 32401

Shift: 12-hr Nights

Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)

Compensation: (Negotiable based on experience)

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care on the medical-surgical unit, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with the healthcare organization's policies, procedures, and clinical protocols. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The role demands strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and monitor progress, documenting appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and update patient care plans.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control standards.
• Use critical thinking skills to make sound clinical decisions.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Florida RN license or appropriate compact nursing licensure (Florida RN license required within 90 days if holding a compact license).
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Acute care RN experience required within the last 3 years; up to 5 years acceptable with extensive RN experience. Experience does not have to be Med-Surg specific.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
