We are a small, dedicated company that has been in business since 1999 , specializing in helping municipalities protect their sewer infrastructure by preventing groundwater and rainwater from infiltrating sanitary sewer systems. Our work plays an important role in reducing unnecessary treatment costs and improving the reliability of public utilities.

At USSI, our crews perform several key services that help identify and prevent infiltration and inflow within sewer systems:

• Smoke Testing – Using specialized equipment, we introduce a non-toxic white smoke into the sewer system to identify points where infiltration may be occurring. Residents are notified several days in advance with door hangers prior to testing.

• Manhole Inspections – Our crews perform detailed visual inspections of every manhole and complete comprehensive inspection reports.

• Inflow Dish Installation – We install specially designed inflow dishes that help prevent rainwater from entering the sanitary sewer system.

• Chimney Seals – Manhole chimney sections are sandblasted and coated to protect against corrosion and groundwater penetration.

• LDL Plug Installation – After smoke testing identifies defective cleanouts, we excavate and cut the cleanout down 12 inches and install our LDL plug. The plug sits 5 inches below grade and prevents rainwater from entering if the cleanout becomes damaged again.

• Night Flow Monitoring – Crews work overnight (approximately 10:30 PM to 6:00 AM) monitoring flow between manholes to help pinpoint areas where infiltration may be occurring.

This position requires travel Monday through Friday, with occasional Sunday night departures. The role is piece-rate based , meaning the more you work, the more you can earn. Typical annual earnings range from $65,000 to $82,000 .
