Vortex Industries, America’s highest quality and most customer-centric commercial and industrial door repair company, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Lead to join our team.

As the Warehouse Lead, you will take ownership of the daily warehouse operations including receiving, staging, and distributing materials, maintaining inventory control, supporting field technician needs, and ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment. You will be responsible for leading by example, assigning and monitoring daily tasks, supporting compliance with safety standards, and communicating effectively with management and team members.

• Lead daily warehouse activities including receiving, material handling, inventory control, staging, and dispatch preparation.
• Assign and oversee tasks for warehouse team members, ensuring completion and adherence to Vortex standards.
• Coordinate and communicate regularly with service center management and field technicians to ensure material readiness and operational support.
• Perform regular inventory audits and assist with cycle counts and reconciliation.
• Manage warehouse organization and cleanliness, promoting a culture of 5S and safety.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment; train others on safe operation as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact for vendors, delivery drivers, and internal departments regarding materials and logistics.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excesses to management.
• Support local safety programs, perform safety walks, and assist with training and safety compliance.
• Ensure all deliveries and material pick-ups are completed in a timely, professional manner.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse checklists and reports as assigned.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time shifts are available between Vortex business hours of 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday with potential overtime

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product, or industry knowledge plus any certifications to be considered.

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of warehouse or logistics experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or team lead capacity.
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment; forklift certification required or must be obtained within 30 days.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory databases, or ERP software is strongly preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to complete digital checklists, time logs, and reports.
• Proven ability to lead by example, assign and monitor tasks, and maintain accountability among team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with field technicians, drivers, and service center leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to train new team members and enforce safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Reliable and punctual with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, effective decisions in a dynamic environment.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.

• Work is performed in a warehouse environment and requires the ability to operate standard warehouse equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly; push/pull heavy materials and equipment as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and perform physical labor in warehouse/shop environments throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures or weather conditions when loading/unloading or working near bay doors.
• Noise level is moderate in a warehouse environment.
