Medical Office Front Desk Associate

Job Summary : The Medical Front Desk Associate is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our healthcare facility. This individual is responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling administrative duties, and ensuring efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will be organized, personable, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced medical environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and check in patients upon arrival in a courteous and professional manner
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments via phone, email, or in person
• Answer and direct phone calls using a multi-line phone system
• Collect and verify insurance information and patient demographics
• Obtain necessary signatures on forms and consents
• Process patient check-out, including co-payments and future scheduling
• Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
• Coordinate communication between patients, medical staff, and other departments
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and deliveries
• Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area
• Comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical or healthcare office preferred
• Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Bilingual skills a plus (not required)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity for operating office equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.73 - $22.77 per hour
